Projects
10000 STRONG runs a variety of parallel projects in the
greater Inanda area in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Isihlangusabasha Primary School
Isihlangusabasha Primary is a school near the Inanda Dam in KwaNgcolosi. The primary school has 496 learners currently attending. The school lacks many basic resources and many of the learners are reliant on the meals they receive at school as their only meal for the day.
Upcoming & Planned Projects at Isihlangusabasha Primary School
BREAKFAST FEEDING SCHEME
Many of the learners come to school without having had a meal in the morning. A breakfast feeding scheme for these learners will ensure that they can focus throughout the day!

Fencing
Some areas of the perimeter fencing at the school needs repairing. The fence also needs to be extended in some areas.
PAINTING
The school needs a fresh layer of paint to brighten up the classrooms particularly within the interiors of 4 of the classrooms. The school was last painted in 2009.
PAVING AND FILLING OF HOLES & CRACKS
There are several areas in the school, which require paving. Cracks and holes in the current cement flooring need to be repaired.

DRAINS & GUTTERS
The school currently does not have appropriate drainage or gutters on many of the buildings. These additions will be very helpful during the rainy months to prevent the corridors from flooding.
WI-FI AND INTERNET CONNECTION
These facilities are becoming essential in today’s world. It would be wonderful for the school to have access to this facility.
MOBILE CLASSROOM
The school is tight on space and the addition of a mobile classroom, would serve as the designated school library and science classroom, which currently does not exist.

BREAK TIME AREA
It is a wish of ours to create a formal lunch break and play area for the learners to enjoy, consisting of benches and AstroTurf grass.
SHADE AND AWNING
As the school has no formal school hall, assemblies and gatherings are held outdoors in an open area, which is at the mercy of the elements. In the summer months, learners get extremely hot during these assemblies and they often need to be cut short.
