Grateful For Those Who Serve

Grateful For Those Who Serve

As Jon-Paul laces up his combat boots and straps on his body armor before he heads out to the field, he takes a moment to think about his family gathered around the dinner table giving thanks for the turkey, dressing and their family time on this special day.

Parker is warm in his patrol car while patrolling the streets of Houston. He is anxious to get home to his family after a long day at work. He may only get the leftovers, but knowing that his family is safe is what he is grateful for on this Thanksgiving.

The day crew at Fire Station #1 in Huntsville, TX gathers around the picnic table outside their station to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal that they prepared in hopes they get to finish it before the next call comes in to take steps to control a fire, act as emergency medical technicians (EMT) or investigate the causes of fires in our community.

Edzky will not be sleeping in or get the chance to smell the fresh baked turkey come out of the oven this afternoon. Instead, he will be starting the first hour of his 12-hour shift at UTMB Hospital in Galveston, TX as an operating room registered nurse helping doctors during surgical procedures.

These are just a few of the selfless servants that will be serving in and around your community this Thanksgiving keeping you safe on all levels. Today we are grateful for those who serve and give us the chance to spend this day with our families stress and worry free.
